Founded on 1947/1/1, the Bureau was originally located at 2, Mingsheng Rd., Taichung City. The Organizational Charter and staffing regulations were revised on 1950/11/28, with new establishments including the Secretariat, Comptroller's Office, Personnel Manager, Section 1, 2, 3, and 4, and a branch office each in Fengyuan and Chingshuei.
1959/10/24: The branch office in Fengyuan was terminated, and two more branch offices were established in Dongshi and Datun. Revenue Service Office, Taichung County(HQ) was relocated from Taichung City to the site of the previous Fengyuan Branch on 1960/2/1, and the Chingshuei Branch was renamed to Shalu Branch Office in 1984/1.
1986/6/4: Revenue offices throughout Taiwan started implementing the "grouping based on functions" system. The internal organizational system was divided into the Industrial-commercial Tax Section, Property Tax Section, Consumption Tax Section, Audit Section, E-operation Section, Legal Affairs Section, Review Section, Tax Services Section, Secretariat, Personnel Office, Accounting Office, Datun Branch, Dongshih Branch, and Shalu Branch.
1992/9/1: National tax and local tax were put under separate management. National tax was handled by the National Tax Administration, and our Bureau was put in charge of collecting provincial and county taxes.
1998/12/21: The "Provisional Statute for Adjusting Taiwan Provincial Government's Functions" was implemented. The "Financial Revenue and Expenditure Division Law" was amended on 1999/1/25, and Value-added and Non-value-added Business Tax(VAT) became one of the national taxes and was temporarily collected by local revenue agencies. Stamp tax and vehicle license tax were put under municipal taxes and were collected by local revenue agencies.
2000/1/31: The Organizational Charter was amended with the following units established: the Consumption Tax Section, Property Tax Section, E-operation Section, Legal Affairs Section, Datun Revenue Section, Shalu Revenue Section, Dongshi Revenue Section, Secretariat, Accounting Office, Personnel Office, and Ethics Office.
2001/3/6: The Organizational Charter was amended with the following units established: Industrial-commercial Tax Section, Property Tax Section, Consumption Tax Section, E-operation Section, Legal Affairs Section, Service Section, Review Section, Secretariat, Accounting Office, Personnel Office, Ethics Office, Datun Branch, Shalu Branch, Dongshih Branch.
2003/1/1: The collection of Value-added and Non-value-added Business Tax(VAT) was transferred to the National Tax Administration, and our Bureau focused on the collection of local taxes.
2004/7/13: The Organizational Charter was amended with the following units established: Land Tax Section, House Tax Section, Consumption Tax Section, E-operation Section, Legal Affairs Section, Service Section, Audit Section, Secretariat, Accounting Office, Personnel Office, Ethics Office, Datun Branch, Shalu Branch, and Dongshih Branch.
2008/1/29: Complementing the revisions made to Article 62 of the Local Government Act, the "Taichung County Local Tax Bureau's Organizational Charter" was amended. "Revenue Service Office, Taichung County" was renamed to "Local Tax Bureau, Taichung County." Complementing the renaming, the titles of the staff and units were also adjusted accordingly.
